I apologize if I'm posting info that's already been discussed, but I want to mention a US Army formation that carried Mosin Nagants in 1918 - 1919 in
north Russia, namely, the Polar Bears, as described in more detail in the second pic below. Fifty-six of these 5,000+ US soldiers are buried at White Chapel
Cemetery in Troy, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan; and they were remembered today in a ceremony arranged by the Polar Bear Memorial Association:
