			<description><![CDATA[ Found this M78/81, nice bore. The wood is nicer than my other M78&#39;s or M81&#39;s. All matching except for the front barrel band. Have most of the Swiss
sporters, M71, this M78/81, M1889, M96/11.M1911,K11, a shortened M1911 I call a tanker and am working on a K31 sporter from odds and ends for hunting. Not
going to increase in value, I just like them.

			<description><![CDATA[ I was handed down an old M-78 rifle by my grandmother a good few years ago. It had been used in the Irish War of Independence from 1919-1921 and possibly in
the 1916 Rising or World War I (it was used by her brother and the war along with his *possible* involvement in the original IRA was never spoken of).
Unfortunately the barrel has been cut off just beyond the sight (the wood supporting barrel remains) and the firing pin was removed in order to decommission it
after the Anglo-Irish... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ <p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Better late then never….I have a renewed interest in my Milbank-Amsler Rifle and plan to make 5 cases for it
and use a .22 blank as the primer.  I started by sizing five 348 Winchester cases, trimming them to the proper length and drilling and tapping the primer hole.
I&#39;ll finish the cases either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. I also slugged the bore and it was little wonder that the two .41 Swiss I originally sacrificed

			<description><![CDATA[ Would appreciate your help in identifying a Swiss Army rifle that belonged to an ancestor who would have started his Swiss military service in 1862.

On the side of the rifle  it has the number 34848.  Below that the words &quot;Soc. End. Swisse&quot;, and &quot;Syst. Vetterlin&quot; are written in a
somewhat oval shape with the first part on top and the the last two words on the bottom.  The Swiss cross is in the middle..

			<description><![CDATA[ A while back I recently stumbled into what appears to be, from pics I have found on the net, an 1871 Swiss Vetterli Calvary Carbine Variation 2.

It has a crack nest to the action on the buttstock that needs to be repaired (glued down) but other than that it appears to be complete and all matching with
no import mark.  I have not cleaned the barrel but it looks good with strong rifling with possibly a small pit have way down (but this may be dirt I will find
out tonite).

mentally challenged). The only reason I got the gun was the stemp on the receiver, a simple Z with a shield beside it and both of them above the serial number.

			<description><![CDATA[ Shot my 69/71 today- just thought I&#39;d share.  12 gr of Trail boss, 200 gr .44 mag bullet .429 diameter.  Trimmed .348 Win brass.  3&quot; at 50 yards.  No
leading.  Shot high (imagine that.....a military gun shooting high, lol!) Very very mild load.  The cases didn&#39;t even obdurate reliably.  I will keep the
same powder charge and try my 310 grain bullet I think.  Very fun.

			<description><![CDATA[ I have just shot my first 50 rounds with my 1871 Vetterli Stutzer. I used paper patched bullets cast from a .405 Winchester Lyman mould, they get out at .412 to .413 for 300 grains using 30/1 alloy, two turns of paper (about 9 pound or 40 grms/sq meter) give me around .420. Bore on my rifle is .417. Cases were reformed 8mm Lebel from Buffalo Arms, sized in a Lee 41 Swiss tool (Actually very little sizing) Distance was 50 meters. Got it early this year and now just about figured out how to make the right ammo for it. I just bought a very nice, untouched Vetterly 1871 carbine with the set triggers. 98% of original blueing on barrel,very tight action, excellent bore and chamber, wood near perfect with nice patina.
