not bad at all. Really enjoyed it today and bought two more. Lots of fun.

find good instructions on how to do it properly. I bought the 1917 reprint of the manual, but this does not give very detailed explanations, and mostly just
says "remove this and remove that", without any real instruction on how to do so. I don't want to do anything wrong and mess up my rifle.

Has anyone ever done this? I have a mostly beautiful 1895 long rifle with a destroyed barrel, and thanks to Ricasso I have a replacement barrel and receiver.
I've never swapped a barrel before but it looks doable with v-blocks and a big vise, also a home-made action wrench (cut-down v-blocks to bear on the
rectangular lug under the front of the receiver). I'll measure the headspace before removal ( with shims, same as on an Enfield) and hope for the best

the 1912 Ross Cadet Military trainer, and a neat little rifle it is! It is in very good shape, maybe had a reblue once in its life but all original and serial
numbers on rifle and stock match. Nothing broken or bubba'd, just a fun single-shot straight pull to shoot. At 100 yards it can hold about a 6" group
