I'm a new K31 owner and have been reading all I can about these wonderful rifles. In my travels I have seen some rifles with some very nice front and rear sight arrangements. While I'm more of a casual shooter I would like to possibly upgrade the rear sight in it's adjustment. I have seen rear sights with a add-on(??) micro adjustment. Is this a available part? I have searched Gunbroker and other retail sale sights and have not found anything like it. Anyone have any...

I walked into gun dealer Martin Retting about 1975 and spotted a 98 Mauser short rifle in 8x57 rec & bolt in white with K31 style stock and sights. It was very pricey at the time I regretted not buying it later on. I have yet to see another one in all these years. Can someone confirm such a rifle exists if so who was it made for and why? Could it be an Israel contract for 1948 war?

I sort of won this by accident on an Auction site. With 2 hours left I put in a bid fully expecting the price to go higher. The next day, Surprise!! I won. It may not be the best looker around but it's my first swiss other than a K31. Bore looks really nice. The stock is solid with the usual dings and such. Went to an auction yesterday hoping to get one of the rifles I liked and ended up with three. Each time I would bid the bidding would stop. I know my hulk and looks are intimidating, only in my mind, but I couldn't believe my luck. Just wish I had taken 400 more bucks.

Hi all, recently I traded for this K31. When I saw it for sale, I thought to myself ,"there's a jewel under all that Walnut stain". So I got it home, and started the wood bleeching process. UGG!. I tryed bleeching this thing 3 times and I could not get the dark stain out of the Beech wood fibers. Dang!. I wanted to give her a honey yellow look to her, (glistening gold in the sun). Well it just didn't work out that way. So I stained it back to dark Walnut and went with that....
